Darshan Rathod heads the Advisory practice at J C Rathod & Co. Darshan has a passion for numbers and a keen interest in entrepreneurship. Following his father's footsteps, he began his career as a chartered accountant (CA). He holds a masters degree in Commerce from the University of Pune and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Darshan was a national level merit ranker in all three levels of the CA examinations. Darshan holds an MBA in finance from XLRI Jamshedpur. He was the OP Jindal Management Scholar at XLRI Jamshedpur.

Darshan had earlier garnered diverse experience with various MNCs such as RREEF (Deutsche Bank Real Estate Private Equity), E&Y and PwC, where he gained experience in transaction advisory, international tax consulting and asset management.

During his MBA at XLRI, Darshan co-founded a social entrepreneurship venture ‘Parichay’ with three XLers, focused on promotion & sale of handicrafts in India (Parichay was the first venture funded by the XLRI Social Entrepreneurship Trust) & did his summers with the real estate private equity arm of Deutsche Bank. Darshan also led the Young Indians Chapter of CII and was a founder-member of the committee for consulting & entrepreneurship at XLRI.

Darshan is also a partner at Acumen Financial Consulting, a business & financial consultancy firm based in Pune. Darshan also helped set-up Tempus Capital, an early-stage venture capital fund based out of Bangalore, where he helped the fund identify and evaluate start-ups for investments. He also helped develop and manage the fund’s relationships with various players in the entrepreneur-investor ecosystem.

Darshan is a member of The Indus entrepreneurs (TiE) Pune. He participates in the Mumbai Marathon every year and successfully completed the 1,000 km cycling Tour of Nilgiris (TfN) in 2010.
